Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward to In 2018

2017 was a great year for books. It looks like 2018 is going to be as well! There are so, so, so many I’m looking forward to reading. To narrow it down I’m making two lists. The first includes books that I don’t have a copy of yet. The second includes books I have advanced copies of and cannot wait to dive into! I’m also not including the three 2018 books I had on my list for Santa (I Have Lost My Way by Gayle Forman, Sightwitch by Susan Dennard, Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston.)

2018 Books I Don’t Have Yet:

  1. Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff: I love this series so much and I simply cannot wait for this one!
  2. Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor: Of course. It’s Laini.
  3. Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli and What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera: Kind of cheating here but since Becky is a part of both I grouped them 🙂
  4. On the Come Up by Angie Thomas: Obviously.
  5. The Summer of Jordi Perez by Amy Spalding: So much yes! Amy is such an excellent storyteller.
  6. His Fair Assassin, #4 by Robin LaFevers: I don’t need to know anything about this one to know I need it in my life ASAP!
  7.  Legendary by Stephanie Garber: Caraval was so fun and I cannot wait to find out more about the characters and the world!
  8. The Fates Divide by Veronica Roth: Love Veronica.
  9. The Queens of Innis Lear and Strange Grace by Tessa Gratton: I loved The Lost Sun and the rest of that series. Cannot wait for more.
  10. Wires and Nerve, Volume 2: Gone Rogue by Marissa Meyer: Iko FOREVER!!!!!

As I was making that list I realized that it’s all authors I’ve read! Here are my top five anticipated releases from new to me authors:

  1. An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green: I’ve really enjoyed Hank Green’s Videos, music, and other creative endeavors.
  2. 12 Steps to Normal by Farrah Penn: I’ve followed Farrah on social media for years and am so excited for her!
  3. Tyler Johnson Was Here by Jay Coles: Just go read the description and you’ll probably agree.
  4. Down and Across by Arvin Ahmadi: I met Arvin at BEA and heard a bit about this one. Sounds like something I’d enjoy.
  5. Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young: Viking Age inspired fantasy? SOLD!

2018 Books I Have And Cannot Wait to Dive Into:

  1. The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton: YES!!!!!
  2. Anger is a Gift by Mark Oshiro: This was such an excellent surprise to get in the mail. SO excited.
  3. Love, Hate & Other Filters by Samira Ahmed: Again, sounds incredible!
  4. White Rabbit by Caleb Roehrig: I loved Last Seen Leaving and think Caleb is the best 🙂
  5. More than We Can Tell by Brigid Kemmerer: Letters to the Lost was a favorite of 2017.
  6. Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi: Ha ha ha ha ha. Yup.
  7. Broken Beautiful Hearts by Kami Garcia: Love Kami!
  8. Royals by Rachel Hawkins: Oh man. This sounds like a book Rachel was born to write.
  9. Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett: Alex, Approximately  was a fav of last year. Ready for more!
  10. From Twinkle, With Love by Sandhya Menon: I screamed when I saw this on Edelweiss.
  11. Save The Date by Morgan Matson: Same as above.
  12. American Panda by Gloria Chao: Sounds so, so great.
  13. Tradition by Brenden Kiely: Brenden is a favorite author. Love his honest and authentic writing.
  14. Unearthed by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner: SO. MUCH. YES.
  15. Reign the Earth by A.C. Gaughen: I adored the Scarlet trilogy and cannot wait to read more.

So many excellent sounding books! 2018 is going to be a great year!
