Top Ten Most Anticipated Debut Novels for 2015

I don’t always do a great job of reading debut novels. Usually it’s just because I don’t have a clue if a book is a debut or not! I do want to try and focus on this more. Here are some debuts I’m looking forward to in 2015 (At least, they’re YA debuts as far as I can tell!) Titles linked to goodreads pages!

1. Hello? by Liza Wiemer: Full disclosure, Liza is a friend of mine. Even if she wasn’t, this book would be on my radar. It’s set in Wisconsin and has multiple narrators… two things I love! I read a very early copy of this one and loved it. Cannot wait to read it since it’s been revised! Super excited!!!

2. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir: An epic fantasy set in a Rome-like world that’s been getting all kinds of great reviews from people I trust? Ohmystars. This book sounds perfect for me!

3. We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach: I love the idea for this one. Following four high school seniors as they wait to see if an astroid will destroy Earth? That’s good stuff.

4. More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera: Another book I’ve been hearing great things about! Sounds interesting and I love near-future settings!

5. The Storyspinner by Becky Wallace: While I’m not a huge fan of the cover for this one, the story sounds right up my ally! Historical fantasy, magic, power struggles, romance… yes, please!

6. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli: Again with the rave reviews! Seems like everyone is talking about (and loving!) this one!!

7. The Boy Next Door by Katie Van Ark: This one just sounds adorable!

8. None of the Above by I.W. Gregorio: I haven’t heard of another YA book like this. Also, it’s been getting amazing reviews.

9. Proof of Forever by Lexa Hillyer: Again, it just sounds cute!

10. Mosquitoland by David Arnold: More amazing reviews! The summery for this one really captured my attention! And what a great cover!!!!!

I received an ARC of None of the Above, and can confirm that it’s a well-written, groundbreaking book. Definitely one to keep on your radar!

MORE HAPPY THAN NOT, SIMON, MOSQUITOLAND, and NONE OF THE ABOVE are so good <3 I'm also really excited for Liza Wiemer's HELLO? and Sabaa Tahir's AN EMBER IN THE ASHES!

Hello? sounds really good! I hadn’t heard of it until now. Thanks for sharing it! I agree that the cover for Storyspinner isn’t that great, but the book sounds really good. Great list!

I’m not really good about paying attention to debut books, either. It’s not that I don’t want to read debut authors, I just don’t focus on that when I’m deciding what to read next. The Storyspinner is on my list too.
