Top Ten Books I Loan Out to Students
Today’s top ten id free choice so I thought I’d combine my job with my blog 🙂 As you may know, I’m a middle school librarian. My school is made up of 7th and 8th graders. We’re very lucky and we have a lot of amazing titles. Still, I can’t buy everything… or I can’t buy ten copies of everything! This means I often bring in personal copies of books to loan my students. Here are the top ten most loaned books I own (for this year at least!)
1. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green: I bought a second and third copy of this book just to loan out! So many of my students and teachers want to read it!
2. Allegiant by Veronica Roth: Divergent and Insurgent too! Since I chose Divergent as our featured read this year these books are in super high demand. I love that I get to talk about it everyday!
3. Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally: My 8th grade girls are loving this books right now! Pretty sure I’m never getting it back!
4. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins: Yeah, no surprise here. Once one girl read it she told EVERYONE about it. Whenever someone finishes they make it to my desk to swoon over the story and beg for LOLA 🙂
5. The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan: STILL! This makes my heart happy.
6. The Truth About Forever or really anything by Sarah Dessen: Even thought I have at least three copies of each one! Dessen’s books are always out and always a hit. I love it.
7. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie: This is the book I slip to students who tell me they don’t like to read. It’s like a gateway drug… only to reading!
8. Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols: My students who love Sarah Dessen beg for my Jennifer Echols books too! So popular!
9. The Selection by Kiera Cass: They borrow my copy and then freak out on me because The One isn’t out yet. Thanks a lot Kiera!! 🙂
10. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater: This is another one of those books where one person reads it and then everyone wants it at once! I can’t seem to keep it on the shelf… which is how I like it! Books aren’t doing anyone any good sitting all lonely on the shelf!
