Ten Books I’ve Added To My To-Be-Read List Lately
I haven’t participated in a Top Ten Tuesday in quite some time. However, this topic is one I always love. So, here’s what I’ve added to the TBR recently!
- The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee: This is the one of the two on this list I don’t have access to and I CANNOT WAIT for it to come out! I love the time period, the premise, the friendship/love line, everything! So eagerly anticipating this one.
- Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor: Okay, this one isn’t new to my TBR. I’ve been desperate for a new Laini Taylor book since Dreams of Gods & Monsters. However, ARCs are now actually a thing so reading it is more of a reality. This is the other one that I don’t have access to… yet!
- The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas: I’ve been hearing so much about this one on twitter. It was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement and sounds like an incredibly timely and powerful story.
- Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley: I devoured Graffiti Moon last summer and have been dying for more Cath Crowley. When I saw this one on Edelweiss I was so excited. Can’t wait to dive in!
- Hunted by Meagan Spooner: I love These Broken Stars which is co-written by Meagan Spooner. This one is a Beauty and the Beast retelling where Beauty is a huntress. Yes, please!
- Undefeated: Jim Thorpe and the Carlisle Indian School Football Team by Steve Sheinkin: I absolutely love Steve Sheinkin’s nonfiction. I have a surface knowledge of Jim Thorpe and know a bit more about the Carlisle Indian School, and the terrible persecution of Native Americans under the guise of education. I am so interested in learning more.
- Caraval by Stephanie Garber: I’ve been wanting to read this one for awhile and just got access via NetGalley. I’ve heard such great things! I was lucky enough to meet Stephanie Garber at BEA this year and she was so kind. As if I hadn’t already wanted to read her book enough 🙂
- Fish Girl by Donna Jo Napoli and David Wiesner: One of my favorite authors teaming up with one of my favorite illustrators? Heck yes, this is a graphic novel I cannot wait to dive in to!
- Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner: The Serpent King is one of my favorite reads of this year. I cannot wait to see what Jeff Zentner has in store for us next!
- History is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera: Confession time – I just read More Happy Than Not last month. I know! I’m a slacker. But I totally fell in love with it and cannot wait to start History is All You Left Me.
What else should I have on my list? Backlist, upcoming, fiction, nonfiction, graphic novel, manga… whatever!!
