Life is almost back to normal for Harper Price. The Ephors have been silent after their deadly attack at Cotillion months ago, and best friend Bee has returned after a mysterious disappearance. Now Harper can return her focus to the important things in life: school, canoodling with David, her nemesis-turned-ward-slash-boyfie, and even competing in the Miss Pine Grove pageant.

Unfortunately, supernatural chores are never done. The Ephors have decided they’d rather train David than kill him. The catch: Harper has to come along for the ride, but she can’t stay David’s Paladin unless she undergoes an ancient trial that will either kill her . . . or connect her to David for life.

My Thoughts:

Rachel Hawkins writes fun books. Like, “my face hurts from smirking the whole time I was reading” fun!

As I mentioned in my review of Rebel Belle, Harper is pretty fabulous. I love her as a character. Her life has basically been turned upside-down and she handles it with such aplomb! I loved reading her take on things. The perfect mix of drama and humor!

In Rebel Belle the reader is introduced to the characters and the paranormal elements. Miss Mayhem takes these things and develops them even more. I absolutely loved this! More history, more detail, and more mystery. The more you learn the more questions you have! Who do you trust when everything you know has been turned on its head? SO GOOD!

If you haven’t read these books I highly recommend it. They’re fun and witty and all the things I love. Rachel Hawkins writes my kind of humor!
