This thriller YA is Scandal meets Veronica Mars.

Sixteen-year-old Tess Kendrick has spent her entire life on her grandfather's ranch. But when her estranged sister Ivy uproots her to D.C., Tess is thrown into a world that revolves around politics and power. She also starts at Hardwicke Academy, the D.C. school for the children of the rich and powerful, where she unwittingly becomes a fixer for the high school set, fixing teens’ problems the way her sister fixes their parents’ problems.

And when a conspiracy surfaces that involves the family member of one of Tess's classmates, love triangles and unbelievable family secrets come to light and life gets even more interesting—and complicated—for Tess.

Perfect for fans of Pretty Little Liars and Heist Society, readers will be clamoring for this compelling teen drama with a political twist.

My Thoughts:

Jennifer Lynn Barnes is basically a genius. This is the sixth book of her’s that I’ve read and each one has captured my attention and left my wowed! The characters, the pacing, the suspense… perfection.

I picked this book up on a day when I was kind of distracted. That ended the minute I started reading. I was immediately drawn in to the story and didn’t want to put the book down. I even considered calling my parents and canceling our dinner plans! (Sister, please don’t tell!!) I didn’t cancel but I did pick the book up immediately after I got home and stayed up way too late to finish it.

Everything about this book just worked. I loved out introduction to Tess and her situation. I loved the move to Washington D.C. and the fact that Tess’s sister is a “fixer.” This places the book in a fast paced and high profile world. So much fun to read! And Asher! There are still some things I need to figure out about that character!

Basically, if you like excellent storytelling that captures your attention and doesn’t let go, The Fixer by Jennifer Lynn Barnes is for you. I cannot wait for more!
