The eagerly-awaited conclusion to the Scarlet trilogy delivers another action-packed and romance-filled adventure.
Scarlet has captured the hearts of readers as well as the heart of Robin Hood, and after ceaseless obstacles and countless threats, readers will finally find out the fate of the Lady Thief.
Imprisoned by Prince John for months, Scarlet finds herself a long way from Nottinghamshire. After a daring escape from the Prince's clutches, she learns that King Richard’s life is in jeopardy, and Eleanor of Aquitaine demands a service Scarlet can’t refuse: spy for her and help bring Richard home safe. But fate—and her heart—won’t allow her to stay away from Nottinghamshire for long, and together, Scarlet and Rob must stop Prince John from going through with his dark plans for England. They can not rest until he’s stopped, but will their love be enough to save them once and for all?
My Thoughts:
Oy. This book. This series! So. Much. Love. I don’t even know where to begin! It you haven’t read Scarlet or Lady Thief you are seriously missing out!
So, Lady Thief ended and I was all aflutter. Between what we learn about Scar’s history and the events that occurred there is a lot going on. I needed to know what happened next! Lion Heart picked right up where Lady Thief left off and kept the momentum going. I love it when books do this. It drew me immediately back into the world and Scar’s story.
Scarlet is one of the most interesting characters I’ve met! Her history is riddled with secrets and deceptions that have a huge impact on her life. I was fascinated by every little bit I learned. And, stars! She is fierce! I love her loyalty and tenaciousness. Her role in this reimagining of Robin Hood is simply fantastic. And I love, love, love her interactions with Eleanor of Aquitaine! I knew every scene with them together would be great.
Of course I cannot forget Rob! You can’t talk about Robin Hood without mentioning the man himself! Actually, the fact that he isn’t the focus in one of the things I love most. This series is Scarlet’s story. Her relationship with Rob is important and he plays a large role in the events but Scar is the catalyst. I loved everything about this. And their relationship is probably one of my favorites!!
Basically, you need to read these books. I adore everything about them! My heart was totally invested and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. And Lion Heart? PERFECT ending to a fabulous series.
