Of course I jumped at the chance to be on the blog tour for Marissa Meyer’s Renegades! I am such a fan of her books. Read on for more about the book, Marissa, and my top ten fictional heros…
About the Book:
Secret Identities.
Extraordinary Powers.
She wants vengeance. He wants justice. The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies—humans with extraordinary abilities—who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone…except the villains they once overthrew.
Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice—and in Nova. But Nova’s allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.

My Top Ten Fictional Heroes:
In no particular order, here are my favorite heroes (for today anyway!)
- Wonder Woman from Warbringer: This book was my introduction to Wonder Woman and I love, love, love her! Fierce and loyal and smart… I want to be just like her!
- Miles Morales from Miles Morales: Spider-man: Jason Reynolds’ Miles Morales story is the only one I’m familiar with, but I so loved it. Like Warbringer, it’s the story of a hero in development. I can really get into that.
- Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter: Because, obviously. I just loved seeing his character grow and become stronger.
- The Man in Black from The Princess Bride: I don’t think I need to explain this one. I mean, it’s The Princess Bride!!!
- Samwise Gamgee from The Lord of the Rings: Steadfast and true. I think I love Samwise for the same reasons I love Neville. They aren’t the focus of the story but they’re heroes just the same.
- Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games: She kind of blew my mind when I first read the book. I loved that she wasn’t this sweet, endearing girl. She did what needed to be done, even when it was hard.
- Katsa from Graceling: I read this book right before or right after The Hunger Games and I loved Katsa for the same reasons I loved Katniss. I like seeing standoffish female’s as the heroes.
- Karou from Daughter of Smoke & Bone: Because I just love, love, love her!
- Kaz Brekker from Six of Crows: I love me a complicated hero! Kaz may not appear heroic from a distance (and he doesn’t want to!) but he’s one of my all time favorites. Such a schemer!
- Gen from The Thief: I think one of the reasons I love Kaz so much is he reminds me a bit of Gen. Neither one is what they at first appear!
I’m reading Renegades now and it’s so much fun! I cannot wait to see what happens next!!!

It sounds like we will find another female hero in Renegades <3
