In this sequel to A Thousand Pieces of You by New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray, Marguerite races through various dimensions to save the boy she loves.

Ever since she used the Firebird, her parents' invention, to cross into alternate dimensions, Marguerite has caught the attention of enemies who will do anything to force her into helping them dominate the multiverse—even hurting the people she loves. She resists until her boyfriend, Paul, is attacked and his consciousness scattered across multiple dimensions.

Marguerite has no choice but to search for each splinter of Paul’s soul. The hunt sends her racing through a war-torn San Francisco, the criminal underworld of New York City, and a glittering Paris where another Marguerite hides a shocking secret. Each world brings Marguerite one step closer to rescuing Paul. But with each trial she faces, she begins to question the destiny she thought they shared.

My Thoughts:

I adored the first book in this series,  A Thousand Pieces of You. It was such a great introduction to the characters and the world they live in. I loved the parallel universes and the way Gray set up the rules for traveling between them and “inhabiting” your parallel self. And the relationships between the characters? Amazing. Thankfully all of these things were present again in Ten Thousand Skies Above You.

Since I was honestly surprised by some of the twists and turns in both books I’m not going to mention specifics here. I don’t want to spoil anything!!

Ten Thousand Skies Above You doesn’t mess around! Major events go down in the beginning which totally drew me right back in to the story. Marguerite ends up having to travel to some specific alternate worlds. It was really interesting to see the different versions of our world Gray created. Like book one, there are lots of twists, turns, and surprises! My reading did slow down a bit in the middle of the book, however, the end had me totally captivated again.

This is a solid follow up for fans of book one. I can’t wait to see what all goes down next! I highly recommend this series!!
