A fever ravages New London, but with the Brotherhood sending suspected witches straight to the gallows, the Sisters are powerless against the disease. They can’t help without revealing their powers—as Cate learns when a potent display of magic turns her into the most wanted witch in all of New England.

To make matters worse, Cate has been erased from the memory of her beloved Finn. While she’s torn between protecting him from further attacks and encouraging him to fall for her all over again, she’s certain she can never forgive Maura’s betrayal. And now that Tess’s visions have taken a deadly turn, the prophecy that one Cahill sister will murder another looms ever closer to its fulfillment.

My Thoughts:

I am just so in love with these books. I put off reading this one because I didn’t want to admit it was over! I love this world that Jessica Spotswood has created. Alternate history is just the best! And, oh man. After the way Star Cursed ended? I wasn’t sure I could handle this one!!!

Sisters’ Fate picks up right where Star Cursed left off… so basically my heart was ripped open all over again! And I can’t even tell you why because it is spoilery!! Instead I’m going to give you four reasons to read The Cahill Witch Chronicles:

  1. Sisters: Cate, the main character, is the oldest of three sisters. Their mother died years before. Cate promised her mother she’d look out for her sisters. Seems like pretty standard stuff, right? WRONG! Because Cate and her sisters aren’t ordinary girls. They have magic! Not only that, there is a prophecy! So, yeah, Cate feels huge amounts of pressure to do right by her sisters. But of course their sisters! They fight and get jealous and don’t want to listen to each other and all the things sisters do. It’s just a really great portrayal of what it’s like to have sisters (but in a situation that amplifies all the drama!!)
  2. Romance: Heck to the yes. Born Wicked has one of my most favorite swoon-worthy scenes from any YA book in it. And the romance just continues as the story goes on. I can’t say too much (since this part gets super spoilery!) but, trust me. The romance is a selling point!
  3. Magic: As I mentioned, Cate and her sisters are witches. However, they haven’t really been trained and they live in a time where magic is dangerous. I really loved learning more about how the magic worked and how it shaped the world in these books.
  4. Alternate History: Speaking of the world… the books are set in alternate New England circa the 1890s. I just love reading books set an an alternate history. I find it so interesting to see where the author deviates from fact. In this case, I thought it was so cool to see how the introduction of magic altered the society!

If you love romance and engrossing storytelling The Cahill Witch Chronicles are for you! I highly recommend these books.
