Top Ten Words/Phrases that Make me Pick up a Book

1. Written by John Green: Obvs. Instabuy. No questions asked. This is true for so many other authors as well. The author is my main criteria for choosing a book.

2. Blurbed by Holly Black: Again, instabuy. Love her and every book I’ve read that she blurbed. I love finding new books/authors based on the recommendations of my favorites

3. Alternate History: There are not enough of these! I am a history geek so I love a book where the author takes history and twists it.

4. Boarding School: Just cannot get enough of these. I NEVER would have wanted to go to one but I love the idea of it!

5. Southern Gothic: I just love an atmospheric story… especially set in the deep South.

6. London/Paris/Anywhere I wish to travel: Apparently setting is a bid deal for me!

7. Snarky/Witty/Sarcastic: Big clues I’m going to like the main characters.

8. Pride and Prejudice/Jane Austen: If a book is inspired by or based on any Jane Austen book I’m likely to snatch it up.

9. Mythology: Love my some Greek retellings/continuations.

10. Kissing: I. Am. So. Shallow.
