My Thoughts: Back in May I had the privilege of attending a blogger breakfast at Little, Brown during BEA. Little, Brown publishes some of my very favorite authors (Holly Black! A.S. King!) so I was excited to see what they had in store for us. Famous in Love was one of the books that I didn’t know… Read more »

Blue Lily, Lily Blue
My Thoughts: Where do I even start. As you can tell from my reviews of The Raven Boys and The Dream Thieves I am a huge fan of this series. Maggie Stiefvater’s storytelling is simply incredible. It’s so smart with subtle world-building perfectly woven into the story. And the complexity! God bless an author who doesn’t talk down to her audience!… Read more »
The Strange Maid (audiobook)
My Thoughts: Okay. So, I listened to the audiobook of book one in the United States of Asgard series and it was instalove…. the story, the narration, all of it! Perfection! (My review) I could not wait for The Strange Maid. Since I loved the narration of book one so much, I decided to do The Strange… Read more »
Beware the Wild
My Thoughts: Beware the Wild is exactly the kind of book I was looking for. It’s delightfully creepy and incredibly atmospheric. I was absorbed in the story and got spine tingling chills at all the best parts! I don’t like books that are simply scary; I need there to be story built up around it. Beware… Read more »
Glory O’Brien’s History of the Future
My Thoughts: A.S. King’s books are consistent. As in, they consistently blow my mind. The writing is always incredible. King addresses topics head on and doesn’t shy away from talking about the things that are important. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read something in one of her books and thought, “Yes, this!… Read more »
The Young Elites
My Thoughts: I absolutely adored Marie Lu’s Legend books but The Young Elites has cemented her as an “auto-buy” author for me. The intensity of The Young Elites sucked me in and didn’t let go. From the first page Lu does an incredible job of building the urgency of the story. No matter which character the story was following,… Read more »
Heir of Fire
My Thoughts: I’ve been putting off writing this review in hopes that I would eventually figure out a coherent way to express my love. I now concede that it isn’t likely to happen. I’m actually pretty proud that I haven’t used an exclamation mark or caps yet. That ends now. OHMYSTARS I love this book… Read more »
Unmarked
My Thoughts: Unmarked, like Unbreakable, is one of those rare “creepy” stories that I actually enjoy! The plot and pacing of the story are such that they override my aversion to all things scary. Even a baby like me can read Unmarked and actually enjoy getting the tuna salad scared out of them! (Leonardo, the Terrible Monster anyone?!?)… Read more »
