Product Review: Manuscript Bookish Journals

January 30, 2017 etc 1

If you follow me on twitter you probably already know I’m a sucker for all things bookish. I just love showing my nerd pride in all ways! I was so excited when I got an email about gorgeous bookish journals from the lovely people at Manuscript Journals.  Of course I wanted to try out their journals and see what they were all about.

From Manuscript Journals:

Ideas strike at any moment and come in many forms.

Manuscript Journals uses iconic book covers and obscure limited cover editions of classic books and prints them on textured cover stock using vintage offset printing and high-tensile thread to craft our journals.

Manuscript Journals sent me a package with a selection of their journal types for free in exchange for an honest review. I don’t normally review products here but I really liked these and I feel like they fit with the theme of my blog!

My new journals!

I was so thrilled when the journals arrived. My instagram followers may have seen me talking about them in my story.  I mentioned to Manuscript Journals that I especially loved the Pride & Prejudice journal so they included a few of those.

I’m really liking these journals so far! I threw one of the pocket sized Pride & Prejudice journals in my purse right away. It’s small and handy for jotting down notes/lists. The larger size is my favorite right now! I love that fits in my planner pocket perfectly! Also, it’s slim so it doesn’t add too much bulk.

I’ve been wanting to try using a journal to track my monthly TBR piles. I’ve seen so many amazing bullet journal layouts, but I was intimidated! Since the large Manuscript journal has blank pages I decided to just try it out! Of course I went way more basic than some of the talented bullet journal-ers I’ve seen.

I like how smooth the pages are. They’re easy to write on and the ink doesn’t bleed like crazy. In the above right picture you can see that the ink also doesn’t go through the page (I used Staedtler Triplus Fineliner pens.) You can certainly see that there is writing, but that’s true of the journal I use for notes while reading as well.

Final Verdict: I would totally buy these. I can’t wait to see what other covers they come out with!

PLUS! Manuscript Journals is starting a monthly subscription service called Manuscript Crate! You’ll get new bookish journals each month for only $10! As a bonus, the first 500 people who sign up get a $10 gift card. That’s like getting a month free!

Here’s more from Manuscript Journals about the service!

About Manuscript Crate:

Manuscript Crate, the new project from Manuscript Journals, wants to replace all your pocket notebooks with literary-inspired journals. We want you to carry a different story with you every time you leave your house.

Become a Journal Freak.

Manuscript Crate gives you a new set of pocket notebooks each month, with a different literary cover art each time. Spanning all genres and international editions, sometimes the cover art will be instantly recognizable, and sometimes will be obscure limited run covers printed a long time ago in far away places. But every month will be an awesome surprise.

No gimmicks, no limits.

A blank Table of Contents on the front inside cover is all you need to keep track and index all your thoughts and notes.

Just a beautiful sewn-bound quality pocket notebook and blank cream pages to hold your thoughts.

Note: I don’t get commission for this. I did get the journals for free but I’m posting about them because I honestly like them.
