Dream Loot Crate: Hamilton Musical

November 15, 2016 etc 4

I have something a little different for you today. It’s not totally book related but was too fun to pass up!

delivered-monthly

Loot Crate has been looking for people to share their ideas with the world in the form of a Dream Crate. Loot Crate (for those that don’t know) is a subscription service that sends a crate of geek and gaming related collectibles to your door each month (similar to OwlCrate or Uppercase Box, but not book related!) They’re hoping to check out what people would do if they could create their very own Dream Crate.

Of course I considered themes like Harry Potter and Classic Literature. However, I feel like I’ve seen plenty similar to that. Loot Crate even has a Wizarding World crate that ships every other month! Instead I decided to go with one of my most recent obsessions: Hamilton! It’s somewhat book related since Hamilton: The Revolution was one of my favorite books I read this year 🙂

I went a little crazy with this one. There are way more things than would typically be in a Loot Crate but I’m dreaming big! I’m not including Hamilton: The Revolution or the musical recording because I’m going to assume anyone wanting the crate will some familiarity 🙂

hamilton

Of course I’d have to include the upcoming The Hamilton Mixtape! You can listen to four of the songs on spotify (links here and here.) I am so in love with them and cannot wait to listen to the rest.

I love products from The Unemployed Philosophers Guild. This dream crate would include one of their finger puppets. You’d either get George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, or Alexander Hamilton.

The Casey Barber shop has some adorable Hamilpins! There’s Hamilton, Burr, Lafayette, Jefferson, Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy. I have these and love them so much. I’d include one in each box.

We all know that Hamilton was quite the writer. Of course a journal and pen would be included. This Hamilton notebook is from the musical’s merchandise shop. Actual feather pens take some getting used to so this faux one would be included instead.

Hamilton was also a prolific letter writer. Of course you’d want to send some Hamilton love to the correspondent of your choice. This Schuyler Sisters card is the perfect way to do that.

All of that writing will work up an appetite. A snack is certainly in order. Some American Heritage Historic Chocolate and Boston Harbour Tea would hit the spot. Both are based on recipes/ingredients that would have been available during Hamilton’s time.

Of course this dream crate would need something book related. These adorable Hamilton bookmarks are just the thing.  Each crate would include one of either Hamilton, Eliza, Burr, Jefferson, or Angelica.

I love candles inspired by pop culture. Just You Wait is inspired by Hamilton’s early life. It’s described as “Fresh Caribbean mist off the coast of Nevis Island, birthplace of Alexander Hamilton.” There are also a My Shot and Schuyler Sisters candles. A smaller version of one of these three would be included.

tote

I have a bit of a thing for tote bags so of course I would want one included in this dream crate. I mean, you have to carry all these goodies, right? I love this tote from a seller on Etsy. It’s available as part of a gift set (with a shirt and card) but just the tote would be included.

Loot Crate has unique designs on the inside of their boxes.  They go with the theme of the crate. Since I’ve been avoiding reality I also thought about what that would look like! I thought it’d be cool to have it look a bit like the Hamilton musical stage:

Of course there would be a card explaining each item and why it’s in the crate. That would have the look of the playbill:

Clearly I had way too much time on my hands! But this was a seriously fun way to spend some time. What about you? What would you include in a Hamilton subscription box? Or, what theme would your dream Loot Crate box center on?

I’m not a Hamilton person (although I do recognize the talent) but this post is adorable. I love the finger puppets. They should make those for Anna and the French Kiss 🙂

You need to go into business for them. These are all great ideas. I haven’t seen Hamilton but really would like to. This would be a great Loot Crate to get. I’ve been eyeing a couple of their boxes but haven’t subscribed yet. I’ve been following your blog for quite awhile now and really enjoy your posts.
