Welcome to the next stop on the blog tour for Kami Garcia’s The Lovely Reckless. I’ve loved Kami’s previous work and simply could not wait to read this contemporary novel from her. It’s actually one of the few YA books I read this summer because I just couldn’t wait anymore!

My Thoughts:
The Lovely Reckless was exactly the book I wanted it to be! As I mentioned before, it’s one of the few YA books I read this summer. I was just in such a weird YA slump. I didn’t want to read anything but adult and new adult romances. This book totally broke me of that!
Frankie’s story really drew me in. I was interested in how drastically her life was changing and how she would adapt to everything. I wanted to know more about how she ended up in the situation she was in. Watching her relationships with other characters develop really kept my attention. There was just something about her that I connected with (even though I have very little in common with her!)
I was quickly caught up in Marco’s world as well! His life is so different from Frankie’s. He’s carrying so much at such a young age. I really enjoyed getting to know more about him as Frankie did. And the chemistry between the two! I really enjoyed that!
I loved how intense everything in this book was. From the fast pace of the story to the sizzling romance… it made the pages fly by. I simply could not stop reading. Kami Garcia knows how to tell a story!
