One moment of recklessness will change their worlds.
Smart. Responsible. That's seventeen-year-old Breanna's role in her large family, and heaven forbid she put a toe out of line. Until one night of shockingly un-Breanna-like behavior puts her into a vicious cyber-bully's line of fire—and brings fellow senior Thomas "Razor" Turner into her life.
Razor lives for the Reign of Terror motorcycle club, and good girls like Breanna just don't belong. But when he learns she's being blackmailed over a compromising picture of the two of them—a picture that turns one unexpected and beautiful moment into ugliness—he knows it's time to step outside the rules.
And so they make a pact: he'll help her track down her blackmailer, and in return she'll help him seek answers to the mystery that's haunted him—one that not even his club brothers have been willing to discuss. But the more time they spend together, the more their feelings grow. And suddenly they're both walking the edge of discovering who they really are, what they want, and where they're going from here.
My Thoughts:
I super loved Nowhere But Here, the first book in Katie McGarry’s Thunder Road series. You had better believe I was chomping at the bit for more. Especially when I found out Walk the Edge would focus on Razor! He’s the character that I found the most intriguing in book one. I was not disappointed with his story!
First, some love for this series in general…. I love that each book is connected but focuses on different characters. The reader really gets to know these characters and you care about them more and more. The dual narration also helps the reader feel more completely in the story! I love the motorcycle club aspect as well. Like, at first when I heard there would be a YA book with characters in an MC I was unsure. After reading Nowhere but Here I was all in. (I was able to ask Katie about the MC aspect in an interview as well!)
As far as Walk the Edge specifically, it’s a strong addition to the Thunder Road series. Razor is such an interesting character. I was really excited to learn more about him and see him deal with some of the issues in his life. Brianna was great as well. She tries so hard to be who she thinks she has to be. I was rooting for her to find her own happiness the whole time! And of course the romance was perfection 🙂 I also really appreciated the way the Katie McGarry brought in the cyberbullying aspect. I cannot even imagine what my teenage years would have been like if the internet and social media had been what it is today.
Walk the Edge really showcase everything I love about Katie McGarry books… dual narration, opposites attract, fabulous romance, and real issues teens deal with. Check out her guest post about why she writes for teens!
