When I got an email from Irish Banana Blog Tours about Lost Stars, Claudia Gray’s YA book set in the Star Wars universe, you had better believe I was all over that one!!! I mean, STAR WARS!! And YA BOOK!!! And CLAUDIA GRAY!!! Yes, yes, yes!!!
Obviously I’m super excited for the movie. And the new characters. And seeing old characters. And all things Star Wars universe! However, I have to say, one of the best side benefits of a new Star Wars movie is all of the Star Wars merchandise! I have picked up so many Star Wars things I love recently like my Millennium Falcon necklace, Han Solo Funko Pop!, and Han and Leia mugs. For this post I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite Star Wars goodies I’ve seen! I admit to being biased to all things Han and the Millennium Falcon, but I’ll try to branch out! Also, I’m not including any books because I feel like that’s the obvious first choice!
Gifts for Star Wars Fans:
Tauntaun Sleeping bag: I have absolutely no use for this but I’ve wanted it for years. It’s just so clever!
Lightsaber Candlestick: For all your entertaining needs! I mean, a candlelight dinner is great but one light by a lightsaber? Clearly superior.
Lego Advent Calendar: I haven’t had an advent calendar for years but this might just be one I need! C-3PO dressed up as santa is priceless!
Yoda Backpack: This is another one of those things that I don’t think I’d have a use for but it’s totally a necessity. Every Star Wars fan needs a Yoda backpack!
Rebellion Nesting Dolls: I never knew that my life was lacking a set of nesting dolls until I saw this one. For those of you who live on the darker side of things there’s an Empire set as well.
R2-D2 Scarf: Sometimes a little subtle geekery is what you’re looking for. This R2-D2 scarf will dress up a t-shirt while still showing your geek pride! This Han Solo frozen in Carbonite necklace works, too!
Star Wars Posters: These are some of my favorite Star Wars related posters on etsy. But there are so many more awesome ones!
Ewok Pillow: How adorable is this? I know not everyone loves ewoks but I just want to cuddle them!!! This pillow is the next best thing.
Yoda Coffee Sleeve: Buy this you must! I don’t even drink coffee but this is so incredibly adorable.
Yoda Notepad: Speaking of Yoda adorableness, this notepad and stand are too cute for words. It’s perfect for a Star Wars fan’s desk!
Han and Leia itty bittys: I have these guys and am not sure why I like them as much as I do. They’re just so cute! There’s also a Hoth set that I need!
Flying Solo shirt: Oh yes. Hello, Han Solo. I need this shirt something fierce!! I doubt I’m the only one. This hoodie is pretty sweet, too! And of course you need Star Wars socks.
I could go on, and on, and on! There are so many great Star Wars goodies out there. I love seeing all the merchandise when I’m at stores. Don’t forget to check out the book!
About the Book:
Star Wars meets Romeo and Juliet in this epic YA novel that follows two best friends who find themselves on opposite sides of the war between the Empire and the Rebellion.
This thrilling YA novel gives readers a macro view of some of the most important events in the Star Wars universe: from the purge of the Jedi in Episode III, to the beginnings of the rebellion in Star Wars Rebels, and through the fall of the Empire in Episodes IV-IV. Readers will experience these major moments through the eyes of two best friends who grow up in these troubling times, and find themselves on opposite sides of the war.
As with other Journey to Episode VII titles, hints about the upcoming film will be included in the narrative, as well a original, post-Episode VI content that sets up the new film.
DUAL NARRATIVE: Chapters alternate perspectives between our two protagonists – one a Rebel pilot, the other an Imperial officer. By exploring these two different worlds, readers will experience many of the major moments in the original Star Wars trilogy – from the destruction of the Death Star to the battle of Hoth – through these two characters’ eyes.
About the Author:
Claudia Gray is not my real name. I didn’t choose a pseudonym because my real name is unpleasant (it isn’t), because I’d always dreamed of calling myself this (I haven’t) or even because I’m hiding from the remnants of that international diamond-smuggling cartel I smashed in 2003 (Interpol has taken care of them). In short, I took a pseudonym for no real reason whatsoever. Sometimes this is actually the best reason to do things.
I live in New Orleans. So far, in life, I’ve been a disc jockey, a lawyer, a journalist and an extremely bad waitress, just to name a few. I especially like to spend time traveling, hiking, reading and listening to music. More than anything else, I enjoy writing.
