Today I have my review of Jesse’s Girl by Miranda Kenneally for the last day of the blog tour! Check out all stops on the tour page.

JessesGirlPractice Makes Perfect.

Everyone at Hundred Oaks High knows that career mentoring day is a joke. So when Maya Henry said she wanted to be a rock star, she never imagined she’d get to shadow *the* Jesse Scott, Nashville’s teen idol.

But spending the day with Jesse is far from a dream come true. He’s as gorgeous as his music, but seeing all that he’s accomplished is just a reminder of everything Maya’s lost: her trust, her boyfriend, their band, and any chance to play the music she craves. Not to mention that Jesse’s pushy and opinionated. He made it on his own, and he thinks Maya’s playing back up to other people’s dreams. Does she have what it takes to follow her heart—and go solo?

My Thoughts:

I just can’t get enough of Miranda Kenneally’s books! They have become go-to reads when I need something I know I’ll enjoy. The characters, the stories, the everything! So much love.

I loved that Jesse’s Girl introduced the music/teen pop star aspect. I can’t get enough of books that deal with this in general, but a Miranda Kenneally book with it?!?! Perfection. As a bonus, it was combined with two main characters who can’t really stand each other at first. Music and misunderstandings… two of my favorite things in books!

I was invested in this story from page one due to seeing some familiar characters from other Hundred Oaks books. However, Maya’s and Jesse’s stories unfolds in a way that kept me interested and wanting to know more without the connection to previous characters.

Jesse’s Girl is the perfect read for summer (or anytime!) Of course I think you should read all the other Hundred Oaks books, however, this one stands on its own. Don’t miss it!
