Blog Tour: Off the Page – Review + Giveaway

May 11, 2015 ARC, Blog Tour, Book Review 9

So excited to be taking part in the blog tour for Off The Page by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer. This book is the companion to Between the Lines.

About the Book:

23278280From #1 New York Times bestselling authors Jodi Picoult and her daughter and co-writer, Samantha van Leer, comes OFF THE PAGE, a tender and appealing romantic YA novel filled with humor, adventure, and magical relationships.

Sixteen-year-old Delilah is finally united with Oliver—a prince literally taken from the pages of a fairy tale. There are, however, complications now that Oliver has been able to enter the real world. To exist in Delilah’s world, Oliver must take the place of a regular boy. Enter Edgar, who agrees to take Oliver’s role in Delilah’s favorite book. In this multilayered universe, the line between what is on the page and what is possible is blurred, but all must be resolved for the characters to live happily ever after. Includes twelve full-color illustrations, and black-and-white decorations throughout.

Full of humor and witty commentary about life, OFF THE PAGE is a stand-alone novel as well as a companion to the authors’ bestsellerBetween the Lines, and is perfect for readers looking for a fairytale ending. Fans of Sarah Dessen and Meg Cabot are sure to appreciate this novel about love, romance, and relationships.

My Thoughts:

As a book lover I can totally relate to these books. I mean, wanting a character to be real? Or imagining what happens to the characters when the book is closed? How fun!

Off the Page picks up shortly after Between the Lines stopped. This was great because I had so many questions about what would happen next! How would it actually work to have a character come to life? They wouldn’t know anything about our world (especially if the were a prince in a fairy tale!) How do you explain them to your family and friends? In Off the Page, Oliver and Delilah have to deal with these issues and more.

Like Between the Lines, this one is told in multiple parts. We again get to see the story from Oliver’s and Delilah’s perspectives. However, this time we also get Edgar’s viewpoint and excerpts from an unnamed narrator. It’s always excellent to see stories from different points of view. I think Oliver was my favorite because he is so far out of his comfort-zone! His learning curve made for a lot of humor!

If you’ve ever wished a book character was real these books are for you!

I’d like to have Bridget Jones come to life. She seemed like a lot of fun.

  3. Christina R.

I’d love Wes or Owen from Just Listen and Truth About forever to come to life! Such awesome guys who are flawed and real and kind 🙂

I have a US address but rafflecopter might show my location outside US because I’m doing a semester abroad

    thank you so very much!

  4. Stacy Renee

Drizzt Do’Urden from R.A. Salvatore’s Forgotten Realms books. He’s a dark elf with silver white hair and I think that would just be the coolest.

  5. Cassie H

I would unleash Bartimaeus from the Bartimaeus trilogy on the world.

  6. Jessy

I am still stuck in the past. I would want to meet anyone from the Harry Potter books.
