"When I was twenty-five years old, it came to my attention that I had never had a girlfriend. At the time, I was actually under the impression that I was in a relationship, so this bit of news came as something of a shock."
Why was Josh still single? To find out, he tracked down each of the girls he had tried to date since middle school and asked them straight up: What went wrong?
The results of Josh's semiscientific investigation are in your hands. From a disastrous Putt-Putt date involving a backward prosthetic foot, to his introduction to CFD (Close Fast Dancing), and a misguided "grand gesture" at a Miss America pageant, this story is about looking for love-or at least a girlfriend-in all the wrong places.
Poignant, relatable, and totally hilarious, this memoir is for anyone who has ever wondered, "Is there something wrong with me?"
(Spoiler Alert: the answer is no.)

My Thoughts:

This was one of those books that I loaned to a friend immediately after finishing it. Like, I had a whole list of people I wanted to give it to and the first person I saw after finishing got it! It was just so much fun to read!

The format of this book made it so readable. Sundquist approaches his dating history (or lack there of) from a scientific/analytical stance. It starts with an introduction to set up the idea for the book. After that it moves to case studies for each nearly romantic relationship in Sundquist’s life. Once all that data has been presented the book ends with a reflection. This set-up just worked for me! It made the book fly by. Plus, there are graphs and footnotes throughout the book as well. Footnotes people! I’m in love!

Seriously, this book. I loved the stories, the humor, the life lessons! Truly a delightful read.
