So, I’ve already reviewed My True Love Gave to Me edited by Stephanie Perkins. Oh, how I loved it! Every story was perfection. I simply couldn’t get enough.

You have twelve reasons this season to stay indoors and fall in love.
Recently I’ve been listening to the audiobook and it is so great! Each story has a different narrator. I’m not sure how they did it, but they found the perfect narrator for each story! I didn’t think I could love My True Love Gave to Me more but the audiobook is proving me wrong. It is excellent. Here’s a list of the stories, authors, and narrators:
- “Midnights,” by Rainbow Rowell. Read by Rebecca Lowman.
- “The Lady and the Fox,” by Kelly Link. Read by Fiona Hardingham.
- “Angels in the Snow,” by Matt de la Peña. Read by Henry Leyva.
- “Polaris Is Where You’ll Find Me,” by Jenny Han. Read by Kim Mai Guest.
- “It’s a Yuletide Miracle, Charlie Brown,” by Stephanie Perkins. Read by Samantha Quan.
- “Your Temporary Santa,” by David Levithan. Read by Dustin Rubin.
- “Krampuslauf,” by Holly Black. Read by Julia Whelan.
- “What the Hell Have You Done, Sophie Roth?” by Gayle Foreman. Read by Abby Craden.
- “Beer Buckets and Baby Jesus,” by Myra McEntire. Read by Lincoln Hoppe.
- “Welcome to Christmas, CA,” by Kiersten White. Read by Michelle Jubilee Gonzalez.
- “Star of Bethlehem,” by Ally Carter. Read by Shannon McManus.
- “The Girl Who Woke the Dreamer,” by Laini Taylor. Read by Ann Marie Lee.
Pretty amazing line-up, right?!?! I haven’t listened to them all in their entirety yet. So far my favorite narration is Rainbow Rowell’s “Midnights” read by Rebecca Lowman. She also read Fangirl, one of my favorite audiobooks ever! Basically she’s the perfect narrator for Rainbow Rowell stories! Check out an excerpt here:

I do like reading Jean Shepherd’s stories that were the basis for A Christmas Story. Also, “In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash” is just a fun title.

I am not big on holiday stories, usually, but I did love this collection. I think my favorite book-related holiday tradition is Harry Potter. I used to work at a facility (I work for the USPS) that allowed us to listen to audio books. Every year (when it was crazy) my husband and I would listen to the Stephen Fry audio of Harry Potter over again. This year, we can’t listen, but we are rereading. It isn’t Christmas without Harry, Ron, and Hermione!

As a kid, I LOVES Nine Days to Christmas. It’s such a lovely story. I was so mad when I found out my mom got rid of it!
