2014 Novel Cuisine Luncheon + Giveaway

December 19, 2014 etc, Giveaway 9

See wrap-up from last year here! See Liza’s post here!

One of my favorite new holiday traditions is a get together hosted by my friend Liza every winter. She and I work together (but it’s mainly her!) to plan a meal of foods based on YA (and some NA!) books we read that year. We invite the amazing group of bloggers, librarians, authors, and all around bookish people we know from the surrounding area (mostly Southern Wisconsin & Northern Illinois) and have an all around wonderful afternoon. We eat too much, spill about our favorite (and not so favorite!) reads of the year, swap books, and just generally enjoy each others’ company. Also, Liza collects books to donate to a local school in need. This year we collected over 150 books! Here are a few pictures to highlight this years meal, as well as the menu.

Anything that is finger food where I can eat with one hand and hold the book with the other so like popcorn, pretzel, chips

  2. Nancy L.R.

I usually eat chips or cookies/crackers while I read.
I made the mistake of eating tostadas while I was reading a print book…I now read from my kindle when eating actual food. heh.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

I’m usually so into what I’m reading that I don’t notice what (or how much) I eat. Something without crumbs, so that I don’t get any on my book!

I don’t usually eat when I read, but when I do, it has to be something easy. Peanut butter from a spoon works.

So many favorite snacks… I guess my favorite has always been chocolate chip cookies and milk. 🙂
