I first started this blog back in 2009 but didn’t really begin blogging faithfully until late 2010. I really had no idea what I was doing or even that there was such a bookish community online. Through the years I’ve found so much to be thankful for in relation to blogging. Here are just a few things….
The fabulous bloggers I’ve met online and IRL. Some of my very favorite people in my life are people I’ve meet through blogging and the YA book community!
The amazing authors! Whether through bookish events and conferences or twitter I’ve had the opportunity to meet and talk to so many YA author. I really appreciate the time they take to acknowledge their fans. Also, so many have given bookmarks and other goodies for my school library! My students love it and I am so thankful!
Basically everyone in publishing! I never expected that I’d learn so much about publishing or that I’d actually get to know the people who make books happen behind the scenes! Again, the generosity has wowed me! Also, I love that I can fangirl in reply emails and they totally don’t think it’s unprofessional!
There are so many books I probably never would have read if I didn’t blog. Not only books highlighted by publishers but books other bloggers have recommended. My reading has been opened up to whole new genres!!! And audiobooks!!! Love.
I’ve discovered amazing independent bookstores that host some pretty epic YA events! Boswell Book Company, The Book Stall, Anderson’s Bookshop… I’m so lucky to have them within a couple hours!
Twitter! There are so many awesome bookish people I can geek out with on twitter. This was something I never knew was missing in my life!!
And, of course, blog readers. It still amazes me that there are people who read what I have to say about books! I appreciate it so much. I’d likely be putting my thoughts out there either way (because I really just love to talk books!) but the fact that there are people who read and comment on what I have to say is pretty incredible.
Basically, I am a lucky, lucky girl and for that I am so grateful!
