So, you may have noticed that I haven’t been posting very much lately. I have all kinds of excuses! I picked up a bunch of extra shifts before ALA! I was at ALA and it was exhausting! I had to pick up more shifts when I got back from ALA! It was the Fourth of July! I had three of my nieces/nephews for six days and it was even more exhausting! And all of these things are valid. However, if you look at every summer I’ve been blogging you’ll see the same thing. I slack. A lot.
I think a lot of it is having summers off. When I’m not in “work mode” I just don’t wanna. Also, during summer I tend to binge on adult historical romance novels! Seriously. I haven’t finished a YA book in weeks. I’ve read at least six non-YA romances.
Still, I promised myself I wouldn’t be a slacker this summer. Clearly that hasn’t been going so well so far! I know I just need to get strict with myself and make myself plan ahead.
Am I the only one who has this problem? Does anyone else have a time of year that is their “slump”? Any tips or tricks to overcome it? I still love blogging and don’t plan to stop. I just don’t like feeling guilty for not posting when I’m soaking up time with family!
