Here’s a bit more about Goddess. Remember, it’s the finale so there may be spoilers for books one and two in the description!
Release: May 28th 2013 by HarperTeen
After accidentally unleashing the gods from their captivity on Olympus, Helen must find a way to re-imprison them without starting a devastating war. But the gods are angry, and their thirst for blood already has a body count.
To make matters worse, the Oracle reveals that a diabolical Tyrant is lurking among them, which drives a wedge between the once-solid group of friends. As the gods use the Scions against one another, Lucas’s life hangs in the balance. Still unsure whether she loves him or Orion, Helen is forced to make a terrifying decision, for war is coming to her shores.
In Josephine Angelini’s compelling conclusion to the masterfully woven Starcrossed trilogy, a goddess must rise above it all to change a destiny that’s been written in the stars. With worlds built just as fast as they crumble, love and war collide in an all-out battle that will leave no question unanswered and no heart untouched.
Josephine Angelini is a Massachusetts native and the youngest of eight siblings. A real-live farmer’s daughter, Josie graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in theater, with a focus on the classics. She now lives in Los Angeles with her husband.
Guest Post: Goodbye to Starcrossed
Sometimes, the strangest thing about saying goodbye is believing you’re actually saying it. I haven’t written about Helen and Lucas for over a year now, but I still talk about them, think about them, and get messages about them on Facebook and Twitter every day.
It’s almost like they’ve gone off to college, but they still come home to visit me on the weekends to do their laundry. Hector is still wandering around. Apparently, he’s now married to my former editor’s assistant, who I now call “Mrs. Delos” in our emails.
And then there’s Daphne. I don’t know what it says about me that I sympathize so much with my villains that I feel they deserve their own spin-offs, but there it is. Complicated characters, whether they are good or evil, are the ones who stick with me the longest.
I miss Helen the most, though. I don’t usually re-read sections of my books unless I’m preparing to read aloud to an audience, and on those occasions when I glance back, I am struck by how far we’ve come. STARCROSSED was the first novel I ever wrote. Helen was my first hero. She and I grew up a lot in three books, and now, thankfully, both of us are much better at expressing what we really mean.
That’s why I’m having such a hard time believing I’m saying goodbye. It’s probably because what I really mean isn’t goodbye at all—it’s thank you.
Thank you all for coming on this journey with me. Thank you for teaching me, for challenging me, but most of all, thank you for this opportunity to express what I really mean.
Thank you, Josie, for taking us on such a great ride. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next.
