About the Book: Since she’d been on the outside, she’d survived an Aether storm, she’d had a knife held to her throat, and she’d seen men murdered. This was worse.

Exiled from her home, the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland – known as The Death Shop – are slim. If the cannibals don’t get her, the violent, electrified energy storms will. She’s been taught that the very air she breathes can kill her. Then Aria meets an Outsider named Perry. He’s wild – a savage – and her only hope of staying alive.

A hunter for his tribe in a merciless landscape, Perry views Aria as sheltered and fragile – everything he would expect from a Dweller. But he needs Aria’s help too; she alone holds the key to his redemption. Opposites in nearly every way, Aria and Perry must accept each other to survive. Their unlikely alliance forges a bond that will determine the fate of all who live under the never sky.

My Thoughts: Wow. I don’t know where I’ve been that I hadn’t read this one yet. It’s full of all the things I love! Thankfully the fact that I’m attending a signing that the author will be at gave me the push I needed to pick Under the Never Sky up. I’ve only lost a few months of fangirling 😉

I don’t even know where to begin with this one. There were so many aspects of the story that captured me and had me thinking (Imagine that! Thinking. Even though I was on spring break!!!) This is going to make me sound a bit heartless but I loved the situation Aria found herself in. I mean, yeah, it sucks that she had some pretty terrible things happen to her, was exiled, and now faces seemingly imminent death. Still, Aria is challenged to the max and doesn’t give up. I appreciate this.

Add Aria’s plight to that of Perry and you have a dynamic that I couldn’t get enough of. These two people are so very different. Everything about the worlds they know are in contrast. Still, fundamentally their lives parallel. I so enjoyed watching them come to know and trust one another.

Under the Never Sky is a fast paced adventure with twists and turns that kept me guessing. It’s a must read for fans of fantasy/futuristic books. Veronica Rossi is certainly an author to keep your eyes on!
