Sarah Dessen Week Kick-Off!
Sarah Dessen Week Kick-Off!!
Oh. My. Stars. Y’all! I am SO EXCITED for this week. And if the number of people signed up is any indication so are you. When Jacinda from The Reading Housewives of Indiana first mentioned devoting the week of What Happened to Goodbye‘s release to Sarah Dessen related posts I had no idea over 50 bloggers would participate! A HUGE thanks to Jacinda and Jasmine for the idea, the graphics, and all the work they put in. Okay, now on with the post…
To start of the week I wanted to give you a brief intro to Sarah Dessen’s books and tell you a few reasons why I adore her. And also a giveaway of all nine of her books that are out in paperback. One winner, NINE books. You’re welcome 😉

What Happened to Goodbye will be Sarah Dessen’s tenth book (Giveaway tomorrow!) The others are (in order of publication):
Each book tells it’s own story but most are set in the same town. Characters and places reappear in later books (more on that later in the week!) You don’t have to read them in the order they were published but I kind of wish I would have. I think I would have picked up on more of the commonalities.
My love for all things Sarah Dessen:
According to my goodreads account I began reading Sarah Dessen’s books in September of 2008. This is also when I joined goodreads so it’s not entirely accurate but I’d say it’s close. For me the tagline, “Read her once and fall in love” was so true. Once I read The Truth About Forever it was all over for me. I was addicted. I loved everything about the books! The teens were authentic and the pacing perfect. The books were totally girly but there were actually interesting and involved plots. And the boys! Oh, the boys. They are so incredibly crushworthy! I’m partial to Owen from Just Listen (my favorite of her books!) but they are all boys you want to get to know! I also adore the way the books are connected. It’s so fun when you recognize characters or places from previous books! Basically I could just gush and gush about how much I enjoy these books. Instead I’ll get to the giveaway! All pertinent information is included on the sign up form:
note: I ordered most of these books from a bookstore online. They have a black line along the bottom of the pages as pictured. Sorry! I didn’t know it would be there when I ordered them. Still, the books are new and AMAZING reads!!!
