About the Book: Last year, Annabel was “the girl who has everything”—at least that’s the part she played in the television commercial for Kopf’s Department Store. This year, she’s the girl who has nothing: no best friend because mean-but-exciting Sophie dropped her, no peace at home since her older sister became anorexic, and no one to sit with at lunch. Until she meets Owen Armstrong. Tall, dark, and music-obsessed, Owen is a reformed bad boy with a commitment to truth-telling. With Owen’s help, maybe Annabel can face what happened

the night she and Sophie stopped being friends.

My Thoughts: This is my very favorite Sarah Dessen book. I just love all the characters! Owen is so swoon worthy! I heart him so hard! “Tall, dark, and music-obsessed, Owen is a reformed bad boy with a commitment to truth-telling.” How could you not love that?!?!

Of course Owen isn’t the only reason to read the book (but seriously… do you really need another?) Annabel has been through so many changes. Her world is falling apart around her. I was really engaged in her life, how everything fell apart, and finding out how she would pick the pieces up. I could empathize with what she was going through and I so desperately wanted to see her move on and grow as a character. I wasn’t disappointed at all. I loved watching the relationship between her and Owen develop. There were so many smaller aspects that I loved as well. The music for one thing… oh how I loved the roll music played. Of course there were the connections to other books too (Wes and Macy make a cameo!)

Basically I adore this book and can’t write a review without being all gushy gush gushy! Sarah Dessen is a literary rockstar! Seriously. Read. Her. Books!
