Top Ten Characters I’d Name my Children After
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by

I’m not so sure on this weeks top ten list. I don’t have children but if I ever do I tend to like names with family meanings. That being said, the following are all names I’ve loved and can see using if I didn’t do the whole family thing 😉

1. ElizaBennett (boy) and Darcy (girl) from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen: Oh Pride and Prejudice, how I love you! I’ve always liked these names. They’re unique yet not too crazy.
2. Anne (with an e!) and Blythe (girl) from Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery: A bit old fashioned but so classy! Of course Anne must be spelled with an “e’!!!
3. Mae and Nick from The Demon’s Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan: Nick has always been a favorite name of mine and I love Mae as well. I’m not sold on Mavis though!
4. Gabry from The Dead-Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan: I’d never heard Gabry as a nickname for Gabrielle before. I love, love, love it! This might have something to do with the way the audiobook narrator says it too!
5. Lila from White Cat by Holly Black: Beautiful name but after reading White Cat I don’t know that I could ever use it! Lily is an option though…
6. Tessa, Clary, Jace and Alec from Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare: Clare uses such great names. I love all of these!
7. Grace from Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater: This has always been a favorite name of mine. I think Gracie is the most adorable nickname for a little girl!
8. Kat from Heist Society by Ally Carter: Kat is one of my favorite nicknames as well. Not sure why I like it as much as I do 🙂
9. Meghan from The Iron King  by Julie Kagawa: I love this spelling of this name.
10. Cedric from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling: I don’t think I’d actually name my child Cedric but I fell in love with the name while reading Harry Potter for the first time. It’s better than Albus Severus at any rate!
