Bookish Christmas List 2013

There are so many great bookish things out there that I love! Here are some of the top items on my bookish Christmas list! You can see past years here and here

Jewelry:
I love wearing bookish jewelry to work. It’s subtly geeky and fun for the students who recognize the bookish reference. Here are the pieces I am pining over.

Tessa’s Clockwork Angel by Hebel Design: Based on the clockwork angel worn by Tessa in Cassandra Clare’s Infernal Devices. This piece is simply stunning. There is also a less expensive version that is a cast from this one. Of course I prefer the more intricate one šŸ™‚ The midnight flower pendant is gorgeous as well šŸ™‚

I mentioned the Stag Locket from Hebel Design before. I think that’s still my favorite from her designs based on Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone. However, I really love this interpretation of Morozova’s Collar as well. I do worry a bit about the fit (will it be too small?!?) but it’s so elegant! For a much less expensive option the Grisha Charms are a must! Now to decide which I want!

I love, love, love this By the Book Locket from Kate Spade. The color, the size, everything about it! Plus, the back says, “Boys make passes at girls in glasses.” It’s pretty much perfect. (Side note, I think Sarah MacLean needs this in honor of her heroine in One Good Earl Deserves a Lover!)

Jane Austen Related:
I love me some Jane Austen! Especially Pride & Prejudice. Here are a few Austen related items I’m wishing for. Actually, they’re all Pride & Prejudice related!

I don’t actually know that I’d be very good at this Pride & Prejudice trivia game but I sure want to try! I mean, I’ve read the book (of course!) but the majority of my Pride & Prejudice knowledge comes from the BBC show with Colin Firth šŸ™‚

How cute is this Pride and Prejudice gift set from PemberlyPond on etsy? I think i need it! It also comes with a Jane Austen tote and a set of postcards. Oh man, I want it!!! Everything in this shop is whimsical and fun. Love this map of Pride and Prejudice locations and this print of my favorite poem, If by Rudyard Kipling. So many awesome things

I love these “Little Miss Austen” board books! I don’t have children but I still think I need this Pride and Prejudice counting primer. I also love the Sense and Sensibility opposites primer! So, so much fun!

Does this Pride and Prejudice  sweatshirt from Out of Print Clothing not look like the most comfortable thing ever?!?!? I’ve had my eye on it for some time now! I also really love this t-shirt with all the locations from Pride and Prejudice arranged artfully on it.  It’s from the Brookish shop on etsy.

DFTBA Records:
It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of John Green. I love his books and I’ve watched the vlogbrothers videos for years. They have some really awesome items at DFTBA records. Seriously, I shouldn’t even go to the site because then I but ALL THE THINGS! Here are a few I’ve managed to hold off on (so far!)

This The Fault in our Stars poster is so great. I love the way the art and references are worked together. I know a number of my students who would LOVE to get their hands on this!!

The only reason I haven’t ordered this “Books turn mugggles into wizards” hoodie is because I already have the t-shirt version on order! I love it so much!! We have the poster in our LMC and my students think it’s the greatest. So many of them have asked where they can get one šŸ™‚

Okay, so this isn’t exactly bookish but close enough! I’ve really enjoyed watching the Crash Course videos on youtube and would love to own the Crash Course World History DVD set

Etc…:

These don’t fit in any of the other categories but I wants them!!!

Another awesome item from Out of Print Clothing! I love this Banned books tote! I need another tote like I need a hole in my head but this one is so great. I would be so stylish during Banned Books Week!

I love these images printed over book pages. I have one of the TARDIS on my wall at home šŸ™‚ This one from The Quaint and the Curious on etsy is great. It features a quote from Divergent by Veronica Roth as well as birds similar to Tris’ tattoo.

I really want a copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone signed by J.K. Rowling! How cool would that be?!?! I got this particular image here but I wouldn’t need it to be a first edition. Heck, it could really be any of the books in the series but I’d prefer the first! Ideally I’d get to meet J.K. Rowling as well but that’s dreaming big šŸ™‚

Things Only Santa Can Bring Me:
There are a couple things I desperately want that I’m pretty sure only Santa could get! Well, Santa and ebay šŸ™‚

When Macmillan was doing promotion for Marissa Meyer’s Scarlet they put together the coolest gift box ever!! I was so jealous of everyone who got this awesome Scarlet hoodie!!! I want it so much!!!

I’m not sure why but I feel I need this exclusive Penguin edition of The Fault in Our Stars! I know I have the signed first edition and the Barnes & Nobel special edition. Still, I see it and I want it. Weird, I know. You can see more about the Penguin Sales conference on their tumblr here

So, that’s a pretty extensive list! But there are so many great things out there!!! What bookish things are you wishing for?!?!
