Student Review: Shatter Me

February 7, 2013 Uncategorized 0

I’m doing something a little bit different today. One of my “frequent fliers” in the library is an eighth grade girl we’ll call “T.” She loves to read and we talk about books pretty much everyday (but she likes the scary ones I am too much of a baby to read!!) Last month I handed her Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. She adored it! Like, couldn’t stop talking about it wanted all her friends to read it right now adored. I asked her to write up a post-it review I could stick in the front of the book. Since I’m also posting my review of Unravel Me today I thought I’d share her thoughts on Shatter Me. Don’t worry, I totally have her permission. Thanks T!

“I’m a monster,” is what Juliette has always told herself. That is until she meets Adam Kent and he tells her otherwise. Juliette has supernatural powers that she doesn’t know how to contain.

“But why can I touch him?” she asks herself over and over again. More importantly, why can someone else touch her? Only two people can. Why them? Everyone else that she touches cringes away in agony.

This book is filled with the unimaginable along with some twists and turns thrown in there. Shatter Me is the best book I’ve read in a long time and I can’t wait for Unravel Me.
