About the Book: Don’t mess with a girl with a great personality!

Everybody loves Lexi. She’s popular, smart, funny…but she’s never been one of those girls, the pretty ones who get all the attention from guys. And on top of that, her seven-year-old sister, Mackenzie, is a terror in a tiara, part of a pageant scene where she gets praised for her beauty (with the help of fake hair and tons of make-up).
Lexi’s sick of it. She’s sick of being the girl who hears about kisses instead of getting them. She’s sick of being ignored by her longtime crush, Logan. She’s sick of being taken for granted by her pageant-obsessed mom. And she’s sick of having all her family’s money wasted on a phony pursuit of perfection.
The time has come for Lexi to step out from the sidelines. Girls without great personalities aren’t going to know what hit them. Because Lexi’s going to play the beauty game–and she’s in it to win it.

My Thoughts: If the fact that the author of this book was Elizabeth Eulberg hadn’t already made it an auto-read the title totally would have! Love it! And the book so lives up to the awesome title.

Lexi is the girl with a great personality. She’s not hideous or anything…. she just doesn’t stand out. For a long time she’s basically okay with that. After her parents split her mother became obsessed with entering Lexi’s younger sister Mackenzie in beauty pageants. Lexi has always sat on the sidelines but she is done with that. It’s not that she wants to be in the pageants (no way!) But still, a little recognition and a life of her own would be nice! With the help of her best friends Lexi stops sitting life out and begins to have some fun.

This book was such a treat to read. I loved Lexi as a character. She was interesting and funny. I also really liked the addition of the whole beauty pageant scene. The parallels Lexi draws between pageant life and high school were spot on! I was also really impressed with the way the different relationships were portrayed… Lexi and Mackenzie, Lexi and her parents, Lexi and her best friends… and of course, Lexi and some delightful love interests. And the end! Oh man, I can’t really talk about it without spoiling it but I loved it!

Elizabeth Eulberg has once again given us a fun witty read that will entertain as well as get you thinking. I highly recommend checking this one out! Be prepared to laugh out loud!
