About the Book: The past few years have held more surprises than part-angel Clara Gardner could ever have anticipated. Yet from the dizzying highs of first love, to the agonizing low of losing someone close to her, the one thing she can no longer deny is that she was never meant to live a normal life.

Since discovering the special role she plays among the other angel-bloods, Clara has been determined to protect Tucker Avery from the evil that follows her . . . even if it means breaking both their hearts. Leaving town seems like the best option, so she’s headed back to California – and so is Christian Prescott, the irresistible boy from the vision that started her on this journey in the first place.

As Clara makes her way in a world that is frighteningly new, she discovers that the fallen angel who attacked her is watching her every move. And he’s not the only one. . . . With the battle against the Black Wings looming, Clara knows she must finally fulfil her destiny. But it won’t come without sacrifices and betrayal.

In the riveting finale of the Unearthly series, Clara must decide her fate once and for all.

My Thoughts: Earlier this week I had the privilege of being a stop on the Boundless blog tour. You can check out the excerpt I posted here. Ever since I finished reading the book I’ve been trying to decide how to write this review. I have some VERY SPOILERY thoughts that I need to discuss. Thankfully Epic Reads has a place for people like me to do this in their forums. Check out all the Unearthly series related chatter here. So no worries… I won’t post any Boundless spoilers here. However, there will likely be minor spoilers for books one and two. Fair warning.

Sometimes I hesitate to really get involved in the final book in a series I love. I don’t want it to end! Boundless grabbed me from the get go with an eery vision that I had to know more about. There was no playing it safe with my heart. I was in for the long haul!

Cynthia Hand did a nice job reminding the reader what went on in the first two books without losing momentum. I think it also helped that I read the novella Radiant before picking up Boundless. It brought me back into Clara’s world and I am so glad I read it!

Without spoiling this book (and it seems like everything I want to say is full of spoilers!) here are a few things I loved:

*It was great to see Clara, Angela, and Christian at Stanford. It was especially interesting since it brings Angela so much closer to her purpose!
*There was a Vampire Academy mention!!!
*Clara gets some unexpected training sessions and I loved them.
*More Tucker 🙂
*We get some more insight into  Jeffery’s character and the decisions he made.
* We learn more history and background on many of our favorite characters. They don’t even know some of it!
* I loved both the boys Clara is torn between. I have my favorite but I honestly liked Christian AND Tucker and think Clara could be happy with either one! I don’t think I’ve ever been so torn.
*I had no idea which way it was all going to go! There were twists and turns that I didn’t see coming at all!! At one point I tweeted this:

So yeah. I adored it. But it’s not done for me. I am a greedy, greedy reader and there is one particular plot line I need more of. You need to read it so we can talk about it. For real.

If you haven’t read Unearthly yet I highly suggest you do! It’s a very different angel book. You can check out my review here. Also, Hallowed is one of the best middle of a trilogy books I have ever read. Here are my thoughts on that one.
