Top Ten Most Anticipated Books for 2013

Yes, I know… I haven’t posted a review since last top ten tuesday. I fail. I have books I’ve read but just need to get around to typing up and formatting the reviews!

Anyway, there are SO MANY books I am looking forward to. It’s ridiculous! Most are in a series I’m already reading or companion novels. Here are just a few…

1. Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins: Love Stephanie, love her books. Cannot wait for more!!

2. Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare: Again, love Cassie! (Just pretty much consider it a given that I love all the authors!) The Infernal Devices series is my very favorite of Cassandra Clare’s. I adored Clockwork Angel and then Clockwork Prince came along and I loved it even more. BUT THE ENDING!!!! Cruel Cassie is cruel!!! NEED BOOK THREE!!!

3. Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo: You may have seen me mention once, twice, or eleventy bajillion times how much I loved Shadow and Bone. I am dying to get my hands on the next book!

4. Mind Games by Kiersten White: Paranormalcy is wonderful and delightful and a favorite of mine and my students. However, I am so excited to see something new and different from Kiersten. She is pretty much amazing.

5. Untold by Sarah Rees Brennan: Another author I totally fangirl over. Sarah is so clever and I think Unspoken is my favorite of hers. It was certainly one of my top three reads of last year! But AGAIN WITH THE KILLER ENDINGS!!!!!

6. The Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson: Creepy Maureen is creepy. And I don’t typically like creepy books. Still, The Name of the Star delighted me and I just couldn’t put it down… even though I had to sleep with the lights on after reading it! No joke.

7. Transparent by Natalie Whipple: This book looks amazing! X-Men meets The Godfather? Oh, I am so in!!! Plus it’s a debut and the author seems delightful 🙂

8. The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen: Um, Sarah Dessen. Need I say more? (I think not.)

9. The Coldest Girl in Cold Town by Holly Black: Yeah… again… Holly. Black. You cannot go wrong! Also, I LOVED the short story of the same title. I’m interested to see what of that world remains the same!

10. The Elementals by Saundra Mitchell: More from the world of The Vespertine and The Springsweet!!!! Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy! Saundra writes some of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. I’ve said this before but I often literally stop and read passages aloud because they are just so darn pretty!

Wait, I have ten already?!?! So glad I already read Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi, Scarlet by Marissa Meyer, and Prodigy by Marie Lu! I can leave them off the list without guilt (even though I’m dying to own finished copies!)

But I didn’t even mention Forever Fox by Mary Pearson or Requiem by Maggie Steifvater and I’ve been waiting YEARS for those! Or, or, or, Revenge of the Girl with the Great Personality by Elizabeth Eulberg, or Loki’s Wolves by Kelley Armstrong and Melissa Marr, or Perfect Scoundrels by Ally Carter, or Just One Day by Gayle Forman, or When You Were Here by Daisy Whitney, or Level 2 by Lenore Appelhans, or The Archived by Victoria Schwab… well, you get the picture. ALL THE BOOKS!!! Looks like 2013 isn’t going to be the year I cut back my book budget!
