Bookish Christmas List

November 25, 2012 Uncategorized 0

So, I’ve discovered that as I get older my Christmas list gets lamer and lamer. For example… this year I asked for things like gas station gift certificates and a toaster oven. Totally awesome, right? Still, there are tons of bookish things I would LOVE. I thought I’d share what’s on my bookish wish list in hopes that Santa might check it out and decide I’ve been a good girl this year. These are the things I’d ask for if I wasn’t being a responsible adult (in other words… lame!)

Silver Wishbone Necklace: So there is a whole line of jewelry inspired by Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I am in love with the books and the number one thing on my wish list is the Silver Wishbone Necklace. Isn’t it GORGEOUS?!?!?

Stag Locket: One of my other favorite books, Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone also has a line of jewelry (this one by Hebel Design)! I adore the Stag Locket with the quotation from the book inside. Apparently Leigh has this piece. I have already threatened to “accidentally” walk off with hers 🙂

Stardust Gift Edition: I am such a fan of this book. And this edition…. oh wow. There is the $30 gift edition which would be alright but, but, but, ….. there is also a deluxe SIGNED limited edition and that is what I desperately want. I mean, it’s only marked at $150.00. It’s Neil freaking Gaiman. So, so worth it!

Casey Robin Harry Potter Prints: I met Casey at Leaky Con this year and bought two of her art prints. I have Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the library and Harry and Hedwig. I’d love the rest of the Potter Pets series or the gorgeous Luna Lovegood print. I also bought the poppy fairy print. You should totally check out her work. It’s lovely and whimsical.

Sherlock Season Two: I’ve long been a Sherlock Holmes fan and love the BBC’s new version set in modern day. I have season one but have yet to see season two.

Hobbit Typography Print: Skahfee Studios on Etsy does an amazing job of taking memorable quotes from books, tv shows, movies, etc… and creating images with them. This is SO my thing! Really, I’d take any of them!

John Green Quotation Posters: A 21-year-old Malaysian artist named Mei has made some beautiful art using quotations from John Green’s books. I don’t really have room for one of these but I still want it! What I’d REALLY love is to see them all made in to a set of notecards. I would be all over that!

UK Editions: When I was at the Romantic Times conference earlier this year I was able to snag the UK edition of Sarah Rees Brennan’s The Demon’s Covenant. So of course I now need The Demon’s Lexicon and The Demon’s Surrender to match! So what if I already own multiple copies of the US editions. I’d also love Maggie Stiefvater’s The Wolves of Mercy Falls UK editions!

Penguin Clothbound Classics: These are so pretty! I want them ALL!! Imagine how lovely they would look all together on a nice little bookcase.

Also, my list from 2010 is still valid today! So many great bookish things! What do you hope Santa brings you?
