Tomorrow is the final day in the 2012 Teen Read Week (sponsored by YALSA) I’ve been a totally lame librarian and slacked on it this year but I did want to post something about it. Sooooooo, today, in honor of teen read week, here are some books that I absolutely loved but that I wish more people would read. Titles are linked to my reviews or goodreads (if I haven’t reviewed it!)
1. My Most Excellent Year by Steve Kluger
2. Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie by David Lubar
3. Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick (or any of his other books!)
4. The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart
5. Shadowed Summer by Saundra Mitchell (again, any of her books!)
6. The Season by Sarah MacLean
7. Deadline by Chris Crutcher (ALL of his books!!!0
8. Court Duet by Sherwood Smith (ignore the terrible covers!)
9. The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness (listen to the audiobook)
10. Devil’s Kiss by Sarwat Chadda (The second book, Dark Goddess, was my favorite)
11. The Splendor Falls by Rosemary Clement-Moore
12. The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson
13. Bewitching Season by Marissa Doyle
14. Academy 7 by Anne Osterlund
15. The Alison Rules by Catherine Clark
I highly recommend that you check any of these out. Some are contemporary fiction, some are fantasy… pick your poison 😉
