About the Book: 1 Concert
2000 Miles
3 Ex-Best Friends

Alice, Summer, and Tiernan are ex-best friends.

Back in middle school, the three girls were inseparable. They were also the number one fans of the rock band Level3.

But when the band broke up, so did their friendship. Summer ran with the popular crowd, Tiernan was a rebellious wild-child, and Alice spent high school with her nose buried in books.

Now, just as the girls are about to graduate, Level3 announces a one-time-only reunion show.

Even though the concert’s 2000 miles away, Alice buys three tickets on impulse. And as it turns out, Summer and Tiernan have their own reasons for wanting to get out of town. Good thing Alice’s graduation gift (a pea-green 1976 VW camper van known as the Pea Pod) is just the vehicle to get them there.

But on the long drive cross-country, the girls hit more than a few bumps in the road. Will their friendship get an encore or is the show really over?

My Thoughts: I had so much fun reading this book. Seriously. I was giggling throughout the whole thing! Many books make me smile but it’s pretty rare for me to actually laugh out loud. This one had me in stitches! When you take the awesomeness of a road trip and add multiple narrators plus the fact that they are ex-best friends you get a book I could not put down!

I think one of my favorite things (aside from the humor!) was the way we get to see the arc of the girls friendship from each girl’s point of view. We see how they perceived things at the height of their friendship, as it fell apart, while they were “estranged” and as they travel together in the present. It was a good reminder that things are not always what they seem.

There were so many little things I enjoyed about Reunited. I loved the Pea Pod, the extreme fandom of the girls Level3 obsession as middle schoolers, the different threads of the girls lives since their friendship imploded, the scene with the squirrel, pretty much everything that happens in Kentucky, the collages… you won’t really understand any of those references until you read it but TRUST ME!!! They work together to make a fun read that will keep you engaged and entertained.

Reunited is a delightful read. It was everything I hoped it’s be and more! If you love the story of friendships and a good laugh don’t miss this one!
