2014 Holiday #Readathon

December 5, 2014 etc, Giveaway 20

whoru_dec_readathon-2014

I don’t often do readathons but there’s something about this time of year that makes me want to spend a whole weekend curled up with a good book! Also, Liza from WhoRuBlog is one of the kindest people I know so I love to support anything she does! The Holiday #Readathon is basically perfect!!

A couple of weeks ago I posted the top ten books I want to read before the end of the year. I then proceeded to spend my five day weekend reading romance novels and only ONE of the books on that list (Princess of Thorns… it’s so great!) Also, I keep track of and display the YA/MG books I’ve read throughout the school year in a window in my LMC (I stole this idea from the amazing Jillian!) So far my window looks like this:

I’ve read 42 YA/MG books since the beginning of the school year. My goal is to make it to 50 before break!!! I’m hoping to use this readathon to make a dent in the books I wanted to read before the end of the year AND get me closer to my goal of 50 before break!

Now, there are a few necessities for me when I curl up with a good book for the holidays! A comfy spot on my couch, warm blankets, fuzzy socks, and a mug of hot cocoa with a candy cane in it! It makes me happy just thinking about it!

I need my big comfy armchair, my favorite furry blanket, and a beverage. Add a book, and I am go to go!

  2. Katie

Love this post and giveaway! I imagine you will make it to 50 books before the break.

What I need to make curling up with a book the perfect way to spend the day is a cup of tea–preferably chai or green or even peppermint–and a purring cat nearby!

  3. Olivia F

I need a cup of homemade hot chocolate, a warm fuzzy blanket, a cozy reading chair, a scented candle burning nearby, Billie Holiday playing in the background, and my cat sleeping at my side in order to make it the perfect day for reading!

  4. Brittany T

I need some type of caffeine (coffee for morning and tea for night). I also need for my 3 year old son to be asleep or with his father as he doesn’t let me get away with reading as much as he used to when he couldn’t talk. My other favorite thing is my Victoria secret PINK plush blanket, as it is the perfect size to wrap about my shoulders and keep me cozy. Light my fire place and let the book take me away. Ahhh what a perfect reading setting.

Reading any good book is already the perfect way to spend the day for me and all I need is a book and a cozy place to sit!

I love a cold rainy or foggy day with a plush blanket and a nice drink (tea, wine, coffee..I am not picky). Add my cat Ickis and it’s the best reading day. 🙂

I just need the book. When is curling up with a book not the perfect way to spend the day?

I usually listen to audiobooks in my art studio while I’m painting. But I also keep a book by my bed and read at night until I fall asleep. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  9. Alyssa

Rain outside, a large cup of tea, cider or hot chocolate. A kitty curled up with me and a pillow, blankie and stuffed animal!

  10. Christina R.

Definitely coffee, a warm blanket and soft music!!

Just in case rafflecopter shows my location outside US, I’m doing a semester abroad and would use my regular US address.

thank you so very much 🙂

I need my bed, alongside a soft blanket and pillow to get comfy. Also, during the christmas season, I like to listen to christmas carols while reading 🙂
If then my cat curls up next to me, it’s just perfect!

What I need to have to curl up with a good book is a fuzzy soft blanket, a small stuffed animal to hold onto, and my recliner chair so I can maximize my comfort while reading for long periods of time 🙂 and I need a good book of course
