About the Book: One of the boys

What girl doesn’t want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn’t just surrounded by hot guys, though–she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys and that’s just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university.

But everything she’s ever worked for is threatened when Ty Green moves to her school. Not only is he an amazing QB, but he’s also amazingly hot. And for the first time, Jordan’s feeling vulnerable. Can she keep her head in the game while her heart’s on the line?

My Thoughts: Why in the world did I wait so long to read this one?!?!? I read and reviewed Stealing Parker back in October of 2012. I really loved it but wished I would have read Catching Jordan first. Well, I finally got around to it and then preceded to read Things I Can’t forget and request Racing Savannah on netgalley that same day! I didn’t want to leave the world of Hundred Oaks!

This book was just exactly what I was looking for. Interesting characters, real life issues, kissing!!  It’s the kind of book that evokes a sigh of contentment when you finish. Jordan was a character I was that captured my attention. I was particularly interested in her relationship with her father. I also really liked that the fact that she was the captain of her football team wasn’t the focus of the book. Like, that was already a fact going into the story; it’s not about her making the team or the team “adjusting” to a girl. So many books that deal with girls and sports focus on that aspect. Which is not a bad thing! It was just nice to see something different!

I am so excited that there are more books set in the world of Hundred Oaks. I felt like I was getting to know these characters as friends. I love that I’ll be able to “check in” with them in future books! Miranda Kinneally has joined the ranks of Sarah Dessen and Jennifer Echols as my go to contemporary fiction authors!
