BOOK THREE! There be spoilers ahead for books one and two!

About the Book: In 1897 London, something not quite human is about to awaken

When mechanical genius Emily is kidnapped by rogue automatons, Finley Jayne and her fellow misfits fear the worst. What’s left of their archenemy, The Machinist, hungers to be resurrected, and Emily must transplant his consciousness into one of his automatons—or forfeit her friends’ lives.

With Griffin being mysteriously tormented by the Aether, the young duke’s sanity is close to the breaking point. Seeking help, Finley turns to Jack Dandy, but trusting the master criminal is as dangerous as controlling her dark side. When Jack kisses her, Finley must finally confront her true feelings for him…and for Griffin.

Meanwhile, Sam is searching everywhere for Emily, from Whitechapel’s desolate alleyways to Mayfair’s elegant mansions. He would walk into hell for her, but the choice she must make will test them more than they could imagine.

To save those she cares about, Emily must confront The Machinist’s ultimate creation—an automaton more human than machine. And if she’s to have any chance at triumphing, she must summon a strength even she doesn’t know she has….

My Thoughts: If you’ve seen my reviews for the previous books in this series (The Girl in the Steel Corset and The Girl in the Clockwork Collar) you know that I have a great appreciation for them. That continues with The Girl with the Iron Touch

I think one of my favorite things about these books is the fact that we get to know so much about a host of characters. Yes, Finley Jayne is at the center of things but Griffin, Emily, Sam, Jasper, and even Jack Dandy get their day! Kady Cross does a great job with having a unique voice for each character. Yay for multiple viewpoints!

In this the newest installment of the Steampunk Chronicles we get to see more from Emily. I loved learning a bit more about her. She isn’t as physically strong as many of the other members of her crew yet she has much to offer. Her skill and “ability” with machines makes her someone to be reckoned with. And now that she and Sam are finally together (!!!) we get more romance!

Speaking of romance… Finley and Jack or Finley and Griffin? This question finally gets an answer and I love, love, loved it. It makes for good kissing scenes 🙂

The Girl with the Iron Touch is a fabulous addition to the previous stories. I loved being back in London and catching up with all the characters. Of course there are new characters to meet too! If you liked the first two books don’t miss out on this one!

As an added bonus you can check out my interview with Finley Jayne here (as well as links to all the character interviews on the blog tour.) I’m not usually a fan of character interviews but I really enjoyed these ones!
