About the Book: My life had always been blissfully, wonderfully normal. But it only took one moment to change everything.

Suddenly, my sister, Georgia, and I were orphans. We put our lives into storage and moved to Paris to live with my grandparents. And I knew my shattered heart, my shattered life, would never feel normal again. Then I met Vincent.
Mysterious, sexy, and unnervingly charming, Vincent Delacroix appeared out of nowhere and swept me off my feet. Just like that, I was in danger of losing my heart all over again. But I was ready to let it happen.
Of course, nothing is ever that easy. Because Vincent is no normal human. He has a terrifying destiny, one that puts his life at risk every day. He also has enemies . . . immortal, murderous enemies who are determined to destroy him and all of his kind.
While I’m fighting to piece together the remnants of my life, can I risk putting my heart—as well as my life and my family’s—in jeopardy for a chance at love?

My Thoughts: I was so excited when I saw Harper Teen had this title up on Net Galley. There were so many reasons I wanted to read it. First… the cover! Both the final one and the one previous are gorgeous! The tagline, “Would you risk your life for love?” along with the title caught my interest. When I actually read more about the book I knew it was for me. Set in Paris? Mysterious boys? Paranormal elements? Some history worked in? Danger? Sign me up! Now, when I am this excited about a book I get nervous because I don’t want to have unrealistic expectations. Thankfully Die for Me was everything I hoped for!

Kate’s life has been turned upside down over the past year. After losing their parents to a car crash she and her sister move to Paris to be with their grandparents. Basically Kate is just existing. She loves Paris and her grandparents but the loss of her parents has ripped her apart. Then she meets Vincent. Dark, mysterious, oh so gorgeous Vincent. What I love about their relationship is that, although Kate is immediately attracted to Vincent it isn’t insta-love. They don’t exactly get off on the right foot and even when she gets to know him more she is leery of anything more than friendship. Kate’s heart is still healing from the loss of her parents. The last thing she wants it to be vulnerable again. Factor in the murderous enemies and there is definitely some hesitation!

I don’t want to go in to too much detail because I feel like it will spoil your reading experience! I absolutely loved piecing everything together. This is the first book in a series so there are subtle hints and things that I assume will be further explored in future books. I can’t wait to read more and see if I’m right! I love the way Ms. Plum worked these questions in yet still had a satisfying ending. I was left content with the events of the book but still curious about what was to come. All I can say is, “Well done!”

Great review! I enjoyed this one at first, even if it was a little slow for me at the beginning. This cover is GORGEOUS and I am definitely looking forward to the next one. Very original idea and I can’t wait to see Plum expand on it.
